Diana Chemutai, a civil engineering student at the Technical University of Kenya, represents the drive, purpose, and growth that the SirKelly Foundation seeks to nurture. Through the Foundation's support and mentorship, she secured a scholarship with the Kenyatta Trust — an opportunity that changed everything. At the university, Diana served as Executive Secretary of the Foundation, stepping into leadership and mentoring fellow students. "SKF gave me the space to grow, lead, and make a difference. That belief in me has shaped who I'm becoming."
Elvis Kipkorir, Former President of the University of Eldoret, embodies the spirit of resilience and leadership that the SirKelly Foundation stands for. "Even when I didn't secure the initial scholarship, the Foundation believed in me. That support kept me focused, even during tough times." During his time at the university, Elvis served as a student leader, mentor, and role model — balancing academics with service and personal growth. "Leadership is about influence, not position. We rise by lifting others."
I am Koech, a Computer Science graduate from Bomet, and my journey with the Sirkelly Foundation has been one of growth, purpose, and awakening. Although I came across the Foundation towards the end of my undergraduate studies, it became a turning point in how I see opportunities and my role in creating them for others. Through supporting students with technology and application processes, and contributing to the Foundation’s digital presence, I found myself growing not just in skill, but in leadership and responsibility. One moment that deeply shaped me was helping a bright student from my village secure a full scholarship to a national school — a reminder of how easily potential can be lost without the right support. “SKF didn’t just expose me to opportunities — it showed me that I can be part of someone else’s breakthrough. That realization continues to shape the path I’m choosing.”
I would like to take this opportunity to sincerely appreciate Sir Kelly Foundation for the amazing work it is doing in transforming the lives of students. This is my humble compliment to the foundation for the impact it has had on me and many others. Sir Kelly Foundation is truly doing a wonderful job. It has given hope, support, and direction to many young people, including myself. Personally, the foundation has played a very important role in my academic journey. After form four, my mind was fixed on studying nursing at KMTC, but getting a chance was very difficult. When I got to know Sir Kelly, he guided me with kindness and patience. He encouraged me to consider French, a subject I had performed well in, and helped me understand the many opportunities it offers. Because of his advice, I was able to open my mind, change my path, and pursue education (French), something I truly enjoy. Through the foundation, I have also learned about great opportunities, including the possibilities of getting a chance to work abroad, such as in France as a language assistant. As a future French professional, my vision goes beyond just being a teacher. While I am pursuing education, I believe that having knowledge in a foreign language opens many doors. I aspire to explore opportunities such as translation, working as a language assistant, and even securing international jobs. I intend to get certification in international school curricula after my studies so that I can expand my career and teach in international schools. My goal is to use French not only to teach, but to create a wide range of opportunities for myself and impact others globally. I am truly grateful to Sir Kelly Foundation for the support, guidance, and inspiration it gives. It has enabled students see a brighter future and believe in new possibilities. Keep up the great work of changing lives and building dreams.
I am Allan Kipkirui, currently a fourth year Civil Engineering student at Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology (JKUAT). My journey with the Sirkelly Foundation has been profoundly transformative, shaping not only my academic trajectory but also my personal development. The Foundation provided invaluable guidance that ultimately helped in my career selection. Beyond my personal experience, I have witnessed the incredible work the Foundation does in empowering bright needy students in our society. The organization serves as a beacon of hope, as it tries to bridge the gap between potential and opportunity. By helping these deserving students clinch vital scholarships, the Foundation ensures that financial constraints do not deter & lock them out of the infinite opportunities. The Foundation’s impact extends far beyond financial support: 1(a) It deeply roots holistic mentorship & nurture virtues, (b)It play a crucial role in guiding learners as they successfully transition through various academic levels, (c)It equips ambitious students with the resources and guidance needed to seize prestigious scholarship programs to study at Ivy League colleges abroad.
I am Graigory Ochieng, a second-year student at JKUAT pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Radiography. My journey into campus was not straightforward, and I almost never made it due to financial challenges at home. After finishing high school with a mean grade of A- (80 points), I had decided not to apply for university because I knew my family could not afford the fees. I felt it would be pointless to spend even the application fee. However, my former primary school teachers encouraged me to try anyway, telling me: “Just apply; you never know.” After applying, I still had no idea how to apply for HELB. Fortunately, Kabianga High School alumni helped me through that process. The real challenge was now joining school — I had no money for transport from Kisumu to Nairobi, no house rent, no clothes, and no stationery. I had less than two weeks to figure everything out. On a Wednesday night during admission week, my parents called and told me I had to leave the next day to prepare and travel on Friday. I was shocked — happy, confused, and overwhelmed all at once. A few minutes later, I received a call from Mwalimu Sirkelly, the founder of Sirkelly Foundation. He told me I had to go to school. Word had reached him that I was in need, and I truly was. That call changed everything. Since that day, Sirkelly Foundation has been more than just a foundation to me. Through career talks, scholarships, school visits, and mentorship programs, I have experienced a community that uplifts without conditions. My mission now is simple: to complete my studies and come back to give back through the same foundation that lifted me. I am here because of them, and I intend to multiply that impact for others.
My academic journey has not been a smooth or predictable one. After completing my Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE), my results were not strong enough to directly pursue my dream course—nursing. This was a moment of deep disappointment for me. I felt discouraged and uncertain about my future, as the career I had always been passionate about seemed out of reach. However, at a time when hope was fading, I encountered the Sir Kelly Foundation. This marked a turning point in my life. The foundation stepped in and offered me not just support, but a renewed sense of purpose. They helped me identify a suitable school where I could pursue my studies and ensured that I successfully secured admission. What once seemed impossible became achievable. Beyond facilitating my admission, the foundation has consistently supported me in practical ways. At times, they have provided financial assistance, ensuring that my education continues without interruption. What stands out most to me is the personal follow-up by the CEO, Sir Kelly. His direct involvement, encouragement, and genuine concern for my progress have been incredibly motivating and have strengthened my determination to succeed. My passion for nursing has only grown stronger through this journey. Nursing, to me, is not just a career—it is a calling. I am driven by the desire to care for others, to support patients in their most vulnerable moments, and to contribute meaningfully to the healthcare system. In addition to nursing, I have a strong passion for technology, particularly in Artificial Intelligence (AI). I am deeply interested in how AI can revolutionize healthcare through improved diagnosis, patient monitoring, and efficiency in service delivery. My curiosity in this field pushes me to continuously learn and explore new ideas. The Sir Kelly Foundation has also supported this passion by providing mentorship and encouragement through both physical engagements and online workshops. These sessions have broadened my perspective, strengthened my skills, and inspired me to one day combine nursing and technology to create innovative healthcare solutions. In conclusion, I owe immense gratitude to the Sir Kelly Foundation for transforming my academic journey. From a place of disappointment and hopelessness, they guided me to a path filled with opportunity, growth, and purpose. Through their unwavering support and belief in my potential, I am now confidently working toward my goals.
